With Gautam Gambhir out of the squad one would have expected Sehwag to make a comeback, however Subramaniam Badrinath has been called into the squad. Which is all nice and good in giving a deserving player a chance. However, what good is that chance when he doesn't even get to play.
Sehwag is the answer to India's top order problems off late against determined pace bowling. The very fact that he is in the team makes the bowlers try to do something new before they have even bowled a single ball.
Will the Indian selectors make the tough decision to drop the seniors? A decision that has been put off for a long time. After the T20 triumph, the country is demanding more and the seniors' continued form slump is making matters worse for them.
