T20 has proved to be the most sensational Tournament of the year
Can anyone still doubt that the standard of cricket at the highest level would decline with just twenty over matches? Perhaps not. What cricket fans have experienced in the past one week has been something out of the world for them. Its been like a genie from the magical world taking everyone by surprise. Short matches. More action. More thrill. It seems like old days when batsmen were out caught in the slips or the bowlers probing them outside the off stump line. What has added to this thrill is unpredictability of the game. Australia beaten by Zimbabwe …. India won against Pakistan 3-0…… and West Indies beaten after scoring at above 10 an over! The rules of bowl out, free hit and even the players seated on the ground itself has lead cricket into new dimensions. But as cricketing bodies around the world say that its just the starting. Soon there will be cricket leagues which would make the game even better at the international level. What more can we expect….. perhaps no onfield umpires some day, indoor stadiums and most importantly cricket being a global sport!
